CBI summons Sisodia in Delhi excise policy scam
The CBI has made Sisodia the accused number one in its FIR. Soon after receiving the summon, Sisodia took to Twitter to criticize the agency. "They conducted 14 hours raid at my house, they didn't find anything. They searched my locker nothing was found from there too. They went to my village but returned empty handed. Now they have called me to join the investigation.
Govt slams Global Hunger Index report that placed India at 107
"The index is an erroneous measure of hunger and suffers from serious methodological issues. Three out of the four indicators used for calculation of the index are related to health of children and cannot be representative of the entire population. The fourth and most important indicator estimate of Proportion of Undernourished (PoU) population is based on an opinion poll conducted on a very small sample size of 3,000," said a statement by the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
Kashmiri Pandit shot at by terrorists in J&K's Shopian succumbs
Jammu and Kashmir Police said that Puran Krishan Bhat, son of Tarak Nath Bhat, of Choudhary Gund village in Shopian was shot and critically injured by militants today. "He was immediately shifted to hospital where he succumbed to critical injuries." "The area has been surrounded for searches. Senior police and paramilitary officers have reached the spot," police said.

India logs 2,430 new Covid cases, 17 deaths
The new fatalities increased the overall death toll to 5,28,874. The active caseload of 26,618 accounts for 0.06 per cent of the country's total positive cases. The recovery of 2,378 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,40,70,935. Consequently, India's recovery rate stands at 98.76 per cent.
Indian rocket to launch 36 OneWeb satellites on Oct 23
According to Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the launch of its rocket Geosynchrounous Satellite Launch Vehicle-Mark III (GSLV MkIII) with 36 satellites of OneWeb is scheduled on October 23 at 12.07 a.m. It said that, the cryogenic engine stage and the equipment bay assembly has been completed. The satellites are encapsulated and assembled in the rocket and final checks are in progress.
