'Opposition trying to block empowerment of Muslim women by misleading them': PM Modi amid hijab row in Karnataka

“Our government stands with 'Har Majloom (every victim Muslim woman)'. Those people (opposition parties) are trying to trick Muslim sisters to push them back in their lives,” PM Modi said while addressing  an election rally in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The hijab row began in Udupi, Karnataka last month when a few female Muslim students were denied permission to attend classed wearing hijab. The matter is currently sub-judice in the Karnataka High Court.

"India has a total of 53 operational satellites in space providing various identified services to the nation. An ED official said Ayyub had allegedly misused the funds, and diverted them into other account for personal expenses. ED sources said she cheated donors in a pre-planned manner. She had opened a Fixed Deposit (FD) of Rs 50 Lakh, the money was collected through campaign, and diverted into FD from the savings account through net banking.
Covid infection rate declined significantly: Health Ministry

"On January 24, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 20.75 per cent, which has now decreased to 4.44 per cent. It indicates that now the rate of infection spread has come down significantly," Agarwal said in a press briefing. A total of 22,49,335 active cases were reported on January 24 which have been reduced to 65 per cent at 7,90,789 currently.

Senior advocate Kapil Sibal mentioned the matter before a bench headed by Chief Justice N.V. Ramana. Sibal submitted that this deals with what is happening in Karnataka, and its spreading in the entire country. The Chief Justice told Sibal that the Karnataka High Court is already examining the issue and it should be allowed to decide it.
