PM security breach in Punjab: Ex-SC judge Indu Malhotra to head probe panel
A bench headed by Chief Justice N.V. Ramana and comprising Justices Surya Kant and Hima Kohli said the panel will inquire into causes of the security breach, persons responsible for the breach, and also measures to be taken in future to prevent security breach of the Prime Minister and other constitutional functionaries.

Yogi asks officials to sell assets of sugar mills to pay farmers
As many as 20 sugar mills, all in the private sector, still owe over Rs 1,600 crore in dues from the previous crushing season to farmers across 50 Assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. The move is aimed at ensuring that non-payment of dues does not adversely affect the BJP in the Assembly elections.

Arun Kumar Chatterjee named Indian Envoy to Kyrgyzstan
"Shri Arun Kumar Chatterjee, presently Additional Secretary in the Ministry, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Kyrgyz Republic. He is expected to take up the assignment shortly," the MEA said in a statement. Chatterjee is an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) official of 1992 batch. Presently, he is serving in the MEA headquarters here as an Additional Secretary. He also assumed additional charge as Dean at the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS) in September last year.

Hari Shankar and Justice Rajiv Shakdher was hearing a batch of petitions challenging Section 375(2) of the IPC which exonerates a husband from the punishment of rape for forcible physical relations with his legally wedded wife without her consent. Advocate Nandita Rao, represented the Delhi government, said just because this is not a criminal offence under Sections 375, does that create a compulsion on a woman to have sex with her husband? "The answer is no."

Exodus from BJP may boost opposition in assembly polls
