We will definitely take recourse to the law. We believe in the justice system. The way this government is behaving, only legal remedy can stop it. Also, this should not happen to children."
Omicron 3 times more transmissible than Delta, gear up: Centre

"Based on current scientific evidence, the Variant of Concern Omicron is at least 3 times more transmissible than the Delta Variant. Besides, the Delta VOC is still present in different parts of the country. Hence, even greater foresight, data analysis, dynamic decision making and strict & prompt containment action is required at the local and district level," the ministry said in a letter to the states and UTs.
No evidence to suggest existing vaccines don't work on Omicron: Govt

"While there is no evidence to suggest that existing vaccines do not work on Omicron, some of the mutations reported on spike gene may decrease the efficacy of existing vaccines," Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya told the Rajya Sabha in a written reply.

Trinamool had more than 72% vote share in KMC election

The data available with the West Bengal election commission shows that the ruling Trinamool Congress has a vote share of 72.1 per cent while the opposition but the Left Front could not reach the double figures even. While BJP struggled with 9.2 per cent, Congress was reduced to politically insignificant managing only 4.1 per cent of the vote share.
'Anti-national' not defined in statutes, inserted during Emergency: Govt

The word "anti-national" was not mentioned in statutes, however, there are criminal legislations and various judicial pronouncements to sternly deal with unlawful and subversive activities which are detrimental to the unity and integrity of the country," Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai told the Lok Sabha in a written reply to the question by AIMIM member Asaduddin Owaisi.
Construction of 6th Nuclear power plant in Kudankulam begins

In a statement, Rosatom said the main construction period of the sixth unit was officially launched on Monday through the first concreting in the foundation slab of the reactor building. India's atomic power plant operator Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) has two 1,000 MW plants (Units 1 and 2) at Kudankulam, while four more (Units 3, 4, 5 and 6) are under construction.
Pinky Irani sent to judicial custody in Rs 200cr money laundering case

Special Public Prosecutor Atul Tripathi and Mohammed Faraz requested the court to send her to judicial custody as she was not required for further questioning. After hearing the request, the court allowed the move of the ED. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has recently confronted Sukesh Chandrasekhar with Pinky Irani inside the Tihar Jail. The probe agency had taken permission from the court to confront Pinky Irani with Sukesh.
Bill linking Aadhaar cards with Voter ID passed in RS amid protests

The Bill seeks to link electoral rolls to the Aadhaar number, allowing electoral registration officers to ask for Aadhaar numbers of applicants wanting to register as voters to establish their identity. Replying to the debate, the Law Minister said: "It will delete the multiple votes of single person and cleanse the system of the fake voters. The government has deliberated the matter in detail with the Election Commission."
BJP alleges rule book thrown on Secretary General by Derek
