Two passengers from 'at risk' countries test positive for Covid
Both the passengers were isolated at the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS), where doctors were closely monitoring them. A total of 668 passengers arrived at Hyderabad Airport on Friday from 'at risk' countries. The RT-PCR tests of two of them turned out to be positive. They were immediately shifted to the government-run TIMS in special ambulances.
India's Covid vaccination exceeds 131.18 cr mark
This has been achieved through 1,36,76,290 sessions, a ministry statement said. The recovery of 7,678 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,41,05,066. Consequently, India's recovery rate stands at 98.36 per cent, highest since March 2020. Sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the states and Union Territories continue the trend of less than 15,000 daily new cases.
Pinky Irani sent to ED custody in 200 cr money laundering case
The ED had arrested Irani, said to be a resident of Mumbai, on Thursday evening. It had moved a plea seeking her 14 days' remand. During the argument, Public Prosecutor Atul Tripathi representing the ED argued that she was needed to be confronted with evidence. He said that her statement is also to be recorded. Advocate R K Shah appeared for the ED and assisted Mr Tripathi.
