Modi chairs CCS meeting on Afghanistan situation, Indians' safety

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh,Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar attended the meeting. It is leant that the government's highest decision making body discussed the tense security situation there. The government's priority is to safely evacuate the remaining Indians left there.
'E-emergency visa for Afghans will be issued for 6 months first'

The new visa category has been introduced to speed up visa granting process to applications for entry into India. "MHA reviews visa provisions in view of the current situation in Afghanistan. A new category of electronic visa called 'e-Emergency X-Misc Visa' introduced to fast-track visa applications for entry into India," the Home Ministry spokesperson tweeted on Tuesday morning.

At 25,166, India sees major decline in daily Covid cases

We have seen as low as 10,500 cases in February this year, before the devastating second wave kicked in, the figure released by the government on Tuesday is the lowest recorded in 154 days. A total of 437 deaths were reported in the past 24 hours pushing the toll to 4,32,079, according to the Covid bulletin released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
JD(U) minister R.C.P. Singh avoids taking clear stand on caste census

Singh, who returned to Patna for the first time after becoming Union Minister, has not given a clear statement on this issue unlike Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who has raised the demand for it several times. Asked multiple times, Singh said that the JD-U is in favour of a caste census but the target will be achieved on the basis of inclusive development of Bihar and the country.
NIA team visit to probe Kabul gurdwara blast 'delayed indefinitely'

Mukhtar Ansari claims threat to his life in jail

Ansari, who is lodged in Uttar Pradesh's Banda jail, was produced virtually on Monday before Maushmi Madhesi, a judge in the special court for cases involving MPs and MLAs here in Uttar Pradesh, in a case of forgery and cheating.

In this regard, they have anticipated that the redeployment of Pakistani terrorist groups like Lashkar- e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), who have targeted Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of India in the past, may be activated again.
