India sees dip in daily Covid cases
On Saturday also new cases showed a marginal dip as India recorded 38,667 fresh infections in the last 24 hours. Less than 50,000 daily new cases have been reported since the 49 consecutive days. India's recovery rate from the Covid infection currently stands at 97.46 per cent. The active caseload also registered a decline of 2,337 on Sunday and the total caseload climbed to 3,85,336.
Will teach Pak lesson of lifetime if tries to be adventurous: Punjab CM
Calling for extreme vigil against Pakistan, which continued to try to foment trouble even 75 years after independence, the Chief Minister said while "we want Punjab, but will not tolerate any aggression or attack on our territory". Addressing the people of Punjab after unfurling the national flag here, the Chief Minister declared "we will teach them (Pakistan) the lesson of their lifetime if they try to be adventurous".
As hospitals packed with Covid patients SL to purchase oxygen from India
The Ministry said as oxygen is in high demand in many hospitals around the island, the decision was made to purchase oxygen from India immediately. An official from the Ministry stated that the daily demand for oxygen has increased to 72 metric tonnes and admission of Covid patients needing oxygen has been increased immensely. In addition to India, oxygen is to be imported from Singapore as well.

UP bans Moharram processions but allows 'Tazia'
The Yogi Adityanath administration issued an order on Saturday, asking district authorities to not allow any religious processions to be taken out during Moharram."Owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, no permission should be granted to take out any processions/'Tazias'," the order said. The order also directed officials to talk to religious leaders to ensure strict compliance of the order.
