62 Bills passed in Monsoon Session: Govt
This Session provided 17 sittings spread over a period of 24 days, though, it was originally scheduled to have 19 sittings from July 19 to August 13,2021, was curtailed due to continuous disruptions in both the Houses of the Parliament.During the Session, 22 Bills were passed by both the Houses of Parliament which includes two appropriation Bills relating to the Supplementary Demands for Grants for 2021-22.
For quality justice from final court, merit must predominate: Justice Nariman
Justice R.F. Nariman said that he could not say that he enjoyed every minute being a judge, but "certainly enjoyed writing judgments". In his remarks at the farewell function organised by the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), Justice Nariman stressed that merit must be the predominant factor, which should be considered while making judicial appointments.

Failure of pyro or fuel systems resulted in India losing rocket & satellite
The rocket systems could have failed as it was kept idle for over a year, due to technical and also due to the spread of Covid-19 pandemic. India's Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-F10 (GSLV-F10) carrying the country's first Geo-Imaging Satellite (GISAT-1) lifted off from the spaceport in Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. The failure resulted in the loss of rocket and satellite both valued over several hundred crores of rupees.
Puri Jagannath temple reopens for servitor families
"The Jagannath temple has been reopened today. I request all devotees to strictly follow the restrictions imposed in view of Covid-19 while having darshan at the temple," Odisha DGP Abhay said. Required security arrangements have been put in place at the temple so that the devotees can have hassle free darshan, he said. The family members of Sevayats are allowed for darshan from Mangal Alati till Rati Pahuda through any of the gates.

Rahul leads oppn march against govt, says 'murder of democracy'

This is a murder of democracy." After Rahul Gandhi, Twitter now blocks Cong & its leaders' accounts
Congress social media head Rohan Gupta said the official twitter account of the Congress has been locked. "Cong official twitter account locked," tweeted, Gupta told IANS that 5,000 of their party workers and leaders' accounts have been blocked. The micro-blogging platform a day ago also blocked Congress General Secretary Ajay Maken's handle, Maken said that Twitter blocked him for supporting Rahul Gandhi.
India adds 41,195 fresh Covid cases, 490 deaths in a day
India has achieved the highest recovery rate ever and currently stands at 97.45 per cent. The active caseload has also registered a substantial rise of 1,636 and currently stands at 3,87,987, and constitute 1.21 per cent of the total cases, the lowest since March 2020. As per the health ministry data, total 39,069 patients were discharged from the hospitals and health centres in the last 24 hours.
