Several hundred crores loss, as cryogenic engine didn't fire: ISRO
The rocket's cryogenic engine did not fire up to complete the mission, said the Indian space agency. Along with the rocket, the 2,268 kg GISAT-1/EOS-03 communication satellite carried by the rocket, both valued over several hundred crore of rupees, revenue opportunity for 10 years, were also lost.
GSLV continues to be ISRO's naughty boy
The rocket earned the nickname after some failed missions earlier. Later it started performing well. However, that seemed to have changed on Thursday morning when the GSLV-F10 was on its way to put into orbit the Geo-Imaging Satellite-1 (GISAT-1) renamed as Earth Observation Satellite-03 (EOS-03). Everything went off well as planned till the cryogenic engine got fired at about five minutes into the rocket's flight.
GSLV failure to have an impact on India's human space mission
India presently has three fully operational rockets -- the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) and two GSLV variants - GSLV-Mk II with a carrying capacity of 2.5 tonnes and GSLV-MkIII with a payload capacity of four tonnes. The GSLV is a three stage/engine rocket. The core of the first stage is fired with solid fuel and the strap-on motors by liquid fuel.

Modernisation of police scheme to continue in 2020-21: Govt
Despite the fact that that police and public order are state subjects, the Centre on September 27, 2017 approved implementation of umbrella scheme of "Modernisation of Police Forces (MPF)" for a three year period from 2017-18 to 2019-20 with a total outlay of Rs 25,061 crore which includes central outlay of Rs 18,636.30 crore, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai told the Rajya Sabha in a written reply.
GISAT-1 a jinxed satellite from the start
The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-F10 (GSLV-F10) rocket that flew on Thursday morning from here carrying the GISAT-1 failed on its mission. Originally the GISAT-1/EOS-03 was slated for launch on March 5, 2020, but hours before the launch, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) announced postponement of the mission owing to some technical glitch.

About seven minutes into its launch at 5.43 a.m. the Indian rocket Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV-F10) encountered problems in its cryogenic engine-the third and last engine. The rocket could not send details to the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) ground centre at the spaceport in Sriharikota.

The Lok Sabha was also adjourned sine die earlier in the day. In the upper house, Leader of the House Piyush Goyal demanded that the Chairman should constitute a special committee to enquire about the behaviour of the MPs, as done in Lok Sabha in the past, and "strict action should be taken... mere suspension will not work".
