With monsoon break, Delhi to witness rise in mercury & wind
For the next one week as per prediction for the national capital, the Met department data indicates clear sky and strong surface wind with 20-30 km kmph, which means people of Delhi will have to witness scorching heat of summer during the day and humidity in the night. Popular IAS couple Tina Dhabi, Athar Amir get court's nod for divorce
Both had filed for divorce on mutual consent in a family court of Jaipur around nine months back. On Tuesday, the court granted them permission for separation. Both were present in the court. The 'celebrity' couple got married in March 2018 and their love story took the social media by storm. Athar is Kashmiri, while Tina was born in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh).

India's Covid cases rise by 38,353 and 497 deaths in 24 hrs
On Tuesday, the country had added 28,204 cases, the lowest in the last 147 days. With 497 more deaths, the death toll due to Covid-19 has climbed to 4,29,179. India has achieved the highest recovery rate ever which currently stands at 97.45 per cent. Additionally, the active caseload has registered a substantial decline of 2,157 and currently stands at 3,86,354, the lowest in 140 days.
2 from outside purchased property in J&K since August 2019: MHA
Two persons from outside J&K have purchased two properties in Jammu and Kashmir since August 2019, the minister said. Responding to a question as to "whether any hardship or impediments are being faced by the government and people of other states while buying properties in Jammu and Kashmir", the minister said that no such instance has been reported to the UT government so far.

LS passes OBC Bill after marathon debate by two-third majority
The Bill was passed by two-third majority in the House and all statutory resolutions were negated. The Bill aims to restore the power that allowed the states and Union Territories (UTs) to prepare their own Other Backward Class (OBC) list. It was demanded by a number of regional parties and even the ruling party's own OBC leaders.
No decision taken to prepare NRIC at national level: Govt
No decision has been taken so far regarding National Register of Indian Citizens (NRIC) at the national level so far. The Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 was notified on December 12, 2019 and came into force with effect from January 10, 2020. Under The Citizenship Act, 1955, one of the requirements for citizenship by naturalisation is that the applicant must have resided in India during the last 12 months.
Assam has no claim over any land: Himanta Biswa Sarma
Talking to the media in the national capital, Sarma said, "We cannot fight with the bordering states for small villages. We do not want anybody to leave their land, as Assam has no claim over any land. "Assam did not ask for any land. It is not a question of them leaving the land because we have never in our history asked for any land from our bordering states," Sarma said.
No deaths confirmed from O2 crisis, one 'suspected' from a state: Health Ministry
In a press conference held here on Tuesday, Health Ministry Joint Secretary Luv Agrawal said, "Only one state has till now reported a suspected death due to oxygen crisis during the second Covid wave. No other states have reported deaths due to oxygen crisis."
Niti Ayog Member Dr V K Paul said that we can achieve herd immunity only through vaccination to prevent transmission.
