Drone shot down in Jammu is from same series brought down earlier
Addressing the media, Mukesh Singh, ADGP (Jammu) said the police shot down a hexacopter carrying a payload of 5 Kg IED in Akhnoor area of Jammu, the threads of which were same as those used in the ones for dropping payloads at the AFS Jammu. "At around 1 a.m. today police shot down the drone when it went down to drop the payload that was around 5 Kg IED material", the ADGP said.
30 buried in Maharashtra hillslide, many others trapped
The incident took place in the small Talai village in the hilly stretch in Maharashtra's Raigad district, which has been clobbered with heavy downpours for the past three days. As per preliminary information, the hillock slid and crashed on around three dozen homes below, trapping a majority of the victims in the boulders, stones and slush which hurtled at full force.

UK Carrier Strike Group begins maritime exercises with Indian Navy in Bay of Bengal
The naval exercise will span over a period of 3-day. The different ranges of combined exercise between the Indian and Royal Navy will include multi-ship, air, sea and sub-surface maritime evolutions, as well as close-quarter manoeuvring. Furthermore, the combined exercise will witness the participation of 10 ships, two submarines, approximately 20 aircraft and almost 4,000 personnel.
4 killed, 10 injured in Mumbai house collapse
The incident happened around 5 a.m. when the ground-plus-one storey structure in Shivaji Nagar collapsed, catching the victims unawares in sleep. Teams of Mumbai Fire Brigade and other rescuers rushed to the spot and retrieved at least four bodies from the rubble and saved the rest, even as intermittent rains hampered relief efforts. The dead have been identified as Mukar Z. Shaikh, 80, and three women.
IED-loaded drone shot down in J&K
"We have brought down one Hexacoptor carrying IED of over five kg as payload," a senior police official said. This is second time that a drone with Improvised Explosive Device payload has been shot down near the international border in Jammu. The earlier drone was brought down by the BSF in the Hiranagar sector. Jammu has been of late witnessing an increased drone activity.

2 terrorists killed in Sopore encounter
"One more terrorist killed (Total 2) in Sopore encounter. Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition recovered. Search going on," police said. Earlier the firefight between terrorists and security forces took place on Thursday evening after a joint team of the police and the army cordoned off the area and launched a search operation on the basis of specific information about the presence of terrorists.
23 Bodo militants, including top leaders, surrender in Assam

4 killed as rains pound Maha, thousands marooned in coastal areas
Several towns and cities like Bhiwandi, Badlapur, Ulhasnagar, Kalyan, Dombivali, Chiplun, Khed, Sawantwadi, Mangaon, Mandangad, Kudal, Mahad, and others were inundated in three to six feet water, and higher in some low-lying areas. Flood waters rushed into shops, offices, homes and ground floor flats, while around half a dozen homes were damaged or collapsed, many big and small vehicles were fully submerged or washed away, and people remained trapped in their homes for hours.
