N. K. Arora, the chief of the Covid-19 working group of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI), also said that Delta variant has mutations in its spike protein, which helps it bind to the ACE2 receptors present on the surface of the cells more firmly, making it more transmissible and capable of evading the body's immunity.
Waterlogging, traffic snarls in Delhi as rains continue
In South Delhi, where light showers started late on Sunday and continued through Monday, several areas reported waterlogging and traffic snarls. Delicensing power distribution on govt's agenda through new bill
The proposed changes will be part of the New Electricity Amendment Bill which the government proposes to introduce and pass during the coming monsoon session of Parliament. The bill will replace Electricity Act, 2003 which earlier delicensed power generation sector. Official sources said that the draft bill has removed the wording 'distribution licensee'.
OMCs pause petrol, diesel price hike for 2nd consecutive day

On Saturday, petrol price was increased by 30 paise, while diesel was kept unchanged. On Sunday, oil marketing had kept the price of the two auto fuels unchanged. Gurugram: Heavy rain, waterlogging throw life out of gear
According to the IMD, the sky will generally remain cloudy in Gurugram. The city may receive one or two spells of rain over the next 2-3 hours. Morning rush hour traffic was affected and the police struggled to keep the vehicles moving. The policemen were seen standing in knee-deep water while struggling to keep traffic going. Also, 3-4 feet of water accumulated at several city roads, including the city's bus stand in old Gurugram.
