Plea in SC against relaxation of lockdown by Kerala govt for Bakrid

Nambiar, a Delhi resident, in the suo motu case already initiated by the Supreme Court in connection with Uttar Pradesh government decision on 'Kanwar Yatra'. The application submitted that despite discontentment shown by the top court over the yatra, the Kerala government is acting in a casual manner by relaxing Covid norms.
Factoring Regulation Bill to move in LS on 1st day of Monsoon Session

No nod for Eid congregational prayers in Kashmir

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, P.K. Pole said that no congregational prayers will be allowed on Eid-ul-Zuha in Kashmir in view of the prediction of Covid's third wave. He said that it will be difficult to limit the number to 25 if congregational prayers are allowed, and Eid prayers will be allowed in a decentralised manner like it has been allowed during the peak of Covid's second wave.
As Mumbai slept, rain fury kills 33, hits road, rail, air traffic

As Mumbai snoozed peacefully, the skies suddenly opened up with thunder, lightning and heavy cloudburst-like rains measuring between 197 mm to over 235 mm in some areas, as per the IMD Mumbai. The incessant downpour lasting 4-5 hours resulted in heavy waterlogging in many lowlying areas of Mumbai and MMR, besides crippling road, rail and air traffic for hours.
