Sisodia writes to L-G, urges not to take decision on Delhi govt matters
This comes amid a standoff between the Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government and the Centre-appointed L-G on appointing special public prosecutors in cases related to the farmers' tractor rally on Republic Day and 2020 northeast Delhi riots. In his letter Sisodia pointed that L-G has been chairing meetings with officials of different department of the Delhi government.

Election Commission blows bugle for Bengal bypolls
In a letter written to the district election officers (DEOs) of five districts, the chief electoral officer (CEO) of the state has asked them to arrange for first-hand testing for EVMs and VVPATs. According to the schedule announced by the poll panel, the FLC will start on August 3 and will have to be completed by August 6. There are 3,414 EVMs and equal number of VVPATs in total and altogether 62 engineers will have to be deployed for the checking.

Risat-1A, GISAT-1 : More eyes in sky for India soon
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is working towards sending up two earth observation satellites -- EOS-3 and EOS-4. The EOS-4 or Risat-1A is a radar imaging satellite with Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) that can take pictures during day and night looking through the clouds. The satellite weighing over 1,800 kg will be carried by the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) this September, said ISRO.
