Final Phase-3 results of Covaxin show efficacy of 77.8% against Covid

Efficacy analysis demonstrates Covaxin to be 93.4 per cent effective against severe symptomatic COVID-19. Safety analysis demonstrates adverse events reported were similar to placebo, with 12 per cent of subjects experiencing commonly known side effects and less than 0.5 per cent of subjects feeling serious adverse events.
India adds over 44K Covid cases, 738 deaths in 24 hrs

India on Friday crossed four lakh deaths due to Covid. With six lakh deaths, the US is at the top of the list followed by Brazil with 5.2 lakh deaths due to the coronavirus. The first death due to Covid-19 in the country was reported last year in March. On May 23, 2021, the country witnessed highest fatalities with 4,454 deaths in 24 hours.
Rahul Gandhi targets government once again over Covid vaccination policy

Earlier on Friday, Rahul Gandhi had said that July has come but vaccines have not, drawing a sharp rebuttal from the BJP.
Navy declares 3 km 'no fly zone' in Vizag, bans UAVs

"An area of 3 km from the perimeter of Indian Naval installations in Visakhapatnam is designated a 'no fly zone'. All individuals and civil agencies are prohibited from flying any non-conventional aerial objects including drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) within these zones," said a Navy official.
Justice must be tempered with mercy: Justice Ashok Bhushan

In his remarks at a virtual farewell function, organised by the Supreme Court Bar Association, from his home in Prayagraj, Justice Bhushan, who will retire on July 4, said he was proud to be part of the top court, which upheld the democracy and rule of law. "I have been true to my oath and discharged my duty without fear and favour. Protection and enforcement of constitutional rights is both power and duty of the court," he said.
Air force to assist ground forces, to be part of theatre commands: Bipin Rawat

We not only have to focus on the law and precedents surrounding the issue before us, as well as the facts of the case, but also the repercussions of what we decide and the precedent we may be setting."
