CDS Gen Bipin Rawat dismisses IAF’s concerns over theatre commands, calls it Army’s ‘supporting arm’ during war
CDS Rawat firmly said that the 4 new theatre commands, maritime theatre command (MTC), air defence command (ADC) and two land-based theatre commands have already been sanctioned by the government and will be created whether the IAF likes it or not. While speaking at a webinar, General Rawat said that the Air Force is required to provide support to ground forces and it still remains as a supporting arm.

Dhami, a two time MLA, was elected new chief minister of the hilly state in a meeting of the BJP's legislative party in Dehradun. The election was held in the presence of central observers -- Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and party national general secretary D. Purandeswari. BJP in-charge for Uttarakhand Dushyant Gautam also present in the meeting.
ED summons NCP leader Anil Deshmukh for questioning on July 5
An ED source related to probe said that the financial probe agency has summoned Deshmukh to record his statement on July 5. Deshmukh had earlier skipped two summons of the ED in the case. On June 29, Deshmukh skipped the second summon citing Covid pandemic and said that he was ready to join the probe through any "video or audio" medium.

"A section of media tried to create confusion among devotees," said a TTD official and termed those media reports as void of facts. General Rawat's statement comes after small explosive-laden drones were used in the terror attack on the Jammu air force station on June 27. He said that the investigating agencies were probing if the drones were launched by Pakistan from their border or within the Jammu region and whether the intent was to deliver a message of a new capability or actually cause damage on the ground.
