ZyCoV-D is a three-dose, intradermal vaccine, and is needle-free, also leading to a significant reduction in any kind of side effects. Interim analysis has shown it to be 66.6 per cent effective for symptomatic RT-PCR positive cases. If regulators consent, ZyCoV-D could become the second home-grown shot, after Bharat Biotech's Covaxin.

India plans 12-crore Covid-19 vaccine allocation to states this month
As per the Centre's Covid vaccine allocation plan for July, India's two indigenous drugs -- Serum Institute's Covishield and Bharat Biotech's Covaxin -- will be provided to the states. Of them 10 crore doses of Covishield and two crore doses of Covaxin will be allocated to the states and the UTs this month to an overall estimated coverage of 94,47,09,596 targeted population for above 18 age group.

A bench headed by Justice D.Y. Chandrachud noted that the NGT included OIL official on the committee, despite holding the corporation responsible for losses. The bench said, "We are surprised that NGT first holds that Oil India responsible for the damages to the environment and for destroying the wetlands and then its officer is made member of the committee to go into these issues."
SC refuses to give direction on allocation of separate funds for judiciary
A bench headed y Chief Justice N.V. Ramana, at the outset, queried the advocate Reepak Kansal, "what kind of petition is this?" The bench also comprising Justice A.S. Bopanna and Justice Hrishikesh Roy said the court does not want to give any direction to the government to allocate separate funds for the judiciary.
