Amicus curiae, advocate Gaurav Agrawal submitted before the top court that the government announced a scheme on May 29 to benefit children orphaned due to the pandemic. Reshuffle in Indian military's top hierarchy

The major reshuffle in the Indian military took place after several key posts fell vacant. Accordingly, Vice Admiral Ravneet Singh, assumed charge as the Deputy Chief of Naval Staff on Tuesday, taking over from Vice Admiral M.S. Pawar, who superannuated on May 31. Ravneet Singh was commissioned into the Indian Navy on July 1, 1983 and he specialised in aviation.

The chargesheet was filed under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in the designated court, the police said. Para was arrested by the CID wing of J&K police earlier this year. The police chargesheet against Para came on a day when the UN special rapporteur accused the Indian authorities of torturing Para for speaking to the UNSC ambassadors who came to Jammu and Kashmir for a visit organised by the MEA.

Delhi HC quashes termination of AI pilots, orders reinstatement

Justice Jyoti Singh also directed that back wages would have to be paid to the reinstated pilots. The court added that the extension of contract, in the future, of the contractual pilots would be at the discretion of Air India, based on their performance. The court said the detailed judgement in the matter would be available only on June 2.
