Both Farhan and Rauf had entered not-guilty pleas to the charges of provocative behavior during the match against India, a PTI report said.

The issue was heard by the match referee Richie Richardson at the Pakistan team hotel, where the two players had come in person despite providing written replies. They were accompanied by team manager Naveed Akram Cheema.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India, or BCCI, had made a formal complaint on Wednesday, alleging that Rauf and Farhan had made offending gestures. The sworn rivals will again face each other in the final match of the Asia Cup 2025 on Sunday.

Rauf was criticized for taunting Indian spectators in the stands with gestures symbolizing crashing planes, while Farhan's celebration after his half-century was also offensive according to the Indian side.
