Sachin Tendulkar’s Son Arjun Gets Engaged to Hotelier Ravi Ghai’s Granddaughter Saaniya Chandok

A left-arm fast-bowling all-rounder, Arjun is currently playing for Goa in domestic cricket and also played for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricket legend and ex-India captain Sachin Tendulkar, who is 25 years old, is now engaged to Saaniya Chandok, who is the granddaughter of well-known Mumbai businessman Ravi Ghai. The engagement ceremony was a close-knit affair with only close friends and relatives attending.

A left-arm fast-bowling all-rounder, Arjun is currently playing for Goa in domestic cricket and also played for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

He started his senior domestic career with Mumbai during the 2020–21 season, making his first appearance in a T20 game against Haryana. After playing for Mumbai at the junior level and gaining a place in the India U19 team, he then moved to Goa during the 2022–23 season, making his first-class and List A appearances there.

For red-ball cricket, Arjun has played 17 games, with 532 runs, including a hundred and two fifties, and taking 37 wickets with one five-wicket and two four-wicket returns. In List A cricket for Goa, he has played 17 games, scoring 76 runs from nine innings. At the IPL, he has played five games for Mumbai Indians, bowled 73 balls and taken three wickets at a strike rate of 38.00 with his best figures being 1/9. His economy rate is 9.36, while his strike rate is 24.3. Opportunities to bat have been few, but he has scored 13 runs off nine balls at a strike rate of 144.44, with a high score of 13.

Saaniya Chandok, who keeps a low profile, belongs to one of Mumbai’s most influential business families. The Ghai family is well-known in the hospitality and food industries, owning the InterContinental Marine Drive hotel and the popular ice cream brand Brooklyn Creamery. As per official records from India’s Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Saaniya serves as a Designated Partner and Director at Mr. Paws Pet Spa & Store LLP in Mumbai.

Her grandfather, Ravi Iqbal Ghai, is the chairman of Graviss Hospitality Ltd., a family business with deep origins in luxury hospitality and ice cream production. He is the son of Iqbal Krishan "IK" Ghai, the visionary who created the legendary Kwality Ice Cream brand and the InterContinental hotel in Mumbai. With Ravi Ghai at the helm, the group has grown its presence in India and abroad, particularly in the Middle East, where they established ice cream manufacturing units and raised exports. Graviss Hospitality remains in charge of the InterContinental Marine Drive and supports business ventures such as The Brooklyn Creamery, an ice cream company with a health twist that his grandson, Shivaan Ghai, founded.
