Second Allegation of Sexual Assault Against Cricketer Yash Dayal, This Time Involving a Minor

Following a promise to marry her during the period of a five-year romantic relationship, a woman from Ghaziabad has charged the 27-year-old Uttar Pradesh cricket player with sexual abuse.

Jaipur Police have lodged a police complaint against Yash Dayal, the embattled Royal Challengers Bengaluru pacer, for allegedly raping a minor.

SHO of Sanganer Sadar police station in Jaipur Anil Jaiman said the latest FIR was registered on Wednesday.

In Jaipur on Friday, July 25, 2025, he said a complaint had been registered against Yash Dayal under provisions of the relevant BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) and the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) act.

The victim alleged that the player had raped her for the first time in 2023 when she was 17 years old, and that a similar experience happened to her in a hotel in the Sitapura area in April of this year, as reported by Jaiman.

"She told us that the cricketer player had promised to provide her with support and help in her career," he said, adding that police were investigating the case. "He called her to the hotel where he allegedly raped her again during April of this year when he was in Jaipur to play for Indian Premier League," he said.

To date, the player has said nothing about either of the two incidents.

Within the Indian domestic league, Dayal is a highly successful medium pacer.  Since his first game for Uttar Pradesh in 2018, he has played 27 first-class games and picked up 84 wickets.  In his 71 T20 games, he has taken 66 wickets.

Prior to joining RCB, whom he was bought by for ₹5 crore in the 2024 players auction, Dayal started his IPL stint with Gujarat Titans in 2022.  He was an integral member of Rajat Patidar's trophy-winning Bengaluru squad and was retained by the side for this campaign as well.
