In spite of Pakistan winning runner-up spot in the regional tournament, consistent losses against India have evoked severe criticism of the team's batting as well as the PCB administration, and Naqvi has been questioned for his management of board affairs, reports Telecom Asia Sport on Tuesday.

"My suggestion or request to Naqvi Saheb is that you have two such crucial positions, and those are big responsibilities and require time," Afridi replied when questioned. "PCB is a completely different entity from the interior ministry, so it has to be kept distinct."

He also criticized Naqvi’s advisers, stating, “Naqvi cannot rely totally on advisers. These advisers are taking him nowhere, and he himself says that he doesn’t know much about cricket.”

Afridi recommended that Naqvi hire good and capable advisers familiar with the game. "He (Naqvi) needs to appoint good and competent advisers who know about the game."

The report further stated that Afridi has always complained about Naqvi having dual offices, yet his suggestions have gone largely unchecked. Sources told that Afridi even asked the country's influential army chief to instruct Naqvi to leave one and dedicate himself solely to the other.
