Rohit Sharma's late-night visit to Kokilaben Hospital recently raised alarms among fans, who went to social media to query about his well-being. Although the motive behind the visit was not revealed, cricket fans were quick to forward their support and good wishes to the star player.
Prior to this, Rohit had been in Bengaluru for a fitness test at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence, which he successfully cleared—an important step as he prepares for his return to international cricket.
Rohit has remained out of the global scene since India's victory in the ICC Champions Trophy in June 2025. He quit Test cricket in May, leaving behind an impressive tally of 67 matches, 4,301 runs at a career average of 40.58, with 12 centuries and a top score of 212.
Fans have been waiting anxiously for the comeback of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, two of the sport's largest icons of contemporary cricket. Both have been away from competitive cricket since their last joint appearance in the final of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy played in Dubai, generating rumors about their comeback. Rohit and Virat are focusing entirely on ODI cricket nowadays, having retired from T20Is following the 2024 T20 World Cup and leaving Test cricket mid-year.
The fans will finally get to watch the duo in action as India is about to start its ODI series against Australia, with the first game scheduled for October 19 at Perth's Optus Stadium.
