Google, Apple pull down Chinese apps banned in India from app stores
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has formally issued a notification banning the operations of 54 Chinese apps in India, as several of such apps from the stable of Chinese companies like Tencent and Alibaba, changed hands to hide ownership.

Samsung struggling to meet Galaxy Tab S8 demands: Report
Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra started on February 10. Since demand was too high compared to the current supply, Samsung had to halt pre-orders in the states for the two models, reports SamMobile. Samsung's US website shows both the vanilla Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra are listed as "Sold Out" with only the Tab S8+ still available to pre-order.
WhatsApp may allow users to add cover photo to profile
The feature has recently been spotted by WhatsApp development tracker WABetaInfo. "When the feature is enabled for beta testers, there will be some changes in your Business profile settingsa, said WABetaInfo. According to the screenshot shared by the WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is planning to introduce a camera button in user's Business Settings. In this, users can select a photo or take a new one use as a cover photo.

Apple's heart rate notifications have helped numerous people detect issues with their heart, prompting them to go and seek further medical assistance, reports AppleInsider. In a recent posting to TikTok, it's shown the wearable device can detect very early changes that could end up being diagnosed months later. Posted on February 2, TikTok user Lauren encouraged viewers of her video to enable notifications for detecting low and high heart rates.
Twitter readying Communities updates, more features
According to reverse engineer Nima Owji, Communities' admins will be able to choose whether the members of a community will be able to invite other people or not, reports 9To5Mac. There will be some options for community membership -- 'Open' will allow anyone to join and/or be invited to the Community. In the 'Restricted' option, people must ask to join, and the mod team must approve those requests.

The Diablo-like MMO launched yesterday in the West, after Amazon Games collaborated with Smilegate RPG to localise and translate Lost Ark and make it available in English, reports The Verge. It has now passed concurrent records for both Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2, which regularly dominate the top of Steam's most-played games. Lost Ark is so popular right now that it has experienced server issues and there's a queue just to start playing, the report said.
Chinese streaming platforms accused of censoring LGBT plotlines from hit US sitcom Friends
The show was re-released in China earlier this week on Tencent, Bilibili, Sohu, iQiyi and Alibaba's Youku. But Chinese fans have complained of scenes being deleted, including those that reference a lesbian character, and another featuring a same-sex kiss, the report said. It is unclear why the scenes have been removed, and none of the platforms have responded publicly to the accusations.
