Foxconn to hire 2 lakh employees for iPhone 13 production: Report

According to the South China Morning Post, 200,000 additional workers are needed at Foxconn's iPhone factory in the Chinese city of Zhengzhou, ahead of the expected launch of the iPhone 13 lineup next month. The general manager of Foxconn's Zhengzhou plant Wang Xue noted that the staffing employees has become the "biggest bottleneck" for the company. He believes that it will be able to hire 200,000 new hires by the end of September "at the current speed of recruitment."
New Samsung foldable phones set to sell in 130 countries by Oct

Sales of Samsung's third-generation foldable devices -- the Galaxy Z Fold3 and the Galaxy Z Flip3 -- have started in some 40 countries, including South Korea, the United States, Britain and France, according to the company. The new Galaxy Z series will be available in 130 countries by October. Samsung has sharply lowered prices for its latest foldable smartphones, cutting as much as 400,000 won (US$340) compared with predecessors.
Xiaomi to acquire self-driving startup Deepmotion for $77.4 mn

The deal happens as the company gears up to enter the electric vehicle market, reports GizmoChina. Deepmotion develops driver assistance software. "Multiple sources have recently stated that Xiaomi is planning to build its own car and is considering it as a strategic decision, but specific details and the path it aims to take are yet to be determined," the report said on Thursday.

And now avid leaker Jon Prosser has claimed that the Cupertino-based tech giant maker is testing new Face ID hardware that would allow users to unlock their iPhone while wearing a mask or foggy glasses. According to Prosser, Apple is testing more advanced Face ID hardware using a case that fits snugly around an iPhone 12. The case allows the iPhone to bypass its built-in Face ID system.
