Samsung, LG dominate global TV market in 2021 1st half

Samsung accounted for 31 percent of the global TV market in terms of sales revenue to defend its top status in the first six months of 2021, while LG followed with a 19 percent share, according to data from industry researcher Omdia. Japan's Sony came in third with 9.3 percent followed by Chinese makers TCL with 7.4 percent and Hisense with 7.3 percent. By volume, Samsung made up 21.2 percent of the global market after shipping 21.03 million TVs in the first half, up 10.3 percent from a year earlier.
YouTube's Partner Programme reaches 2 mn creators

YouTube Partner Programme (YPP) is a first-of-its-kind open monetisation initiative where anyone who qualified could join and start making money. "Now, more than two million creators participate in YPP globally, including many who might not otherwise have had a platform, from tech reviewers to entertainers. And many of these creators are generating jobs and contributing to local and global economies," Neal Mohan, Chief Product Officer, YouTube, said in a statement late on Monday.
Google to revamp Play Store app ratings

Soon, Play Store users on phones will see app ratings based on the average of submissions from only the country they are registered. "We have heard from both Play Store users and developers that ratings and reviews could be more helpful," the company said in a statement late on Monday.
Cook, Nadella, Jassy to meet Biden over cybersecurity: Report

According to a Bloomberg report, Joe Biden plans to host a meeting on Wednesday to discuss how companies are improving cybersecurity. The PlayStation 5 was sold out within minutes of pre-orders going available at the May 17 replenishment. The PS5 was released in the country for the first time since February 2021. The PlayStation 5 costs Rs 49,990 for the normal edition while the digital edition comes for Rs 39,990.
