AWS leading Cloud service provider in Q2 amid 'green' Cloud call
Microsoft Azure was the second largest cloud service provider with a 22 per cent market share, followed by Google Cloud that grew 66 per cent in the latest quarter and accounted for an 8 per cent market share, according to the report by market research firm Canalys. The Cloud infrastructure services spending increased 36 per cent to $47 billion in Q2, as workload migration and cloud native application development accelerated.

Facebook developing AI, new ways to detect users under age 13
Facebook and Instagram weren't designed for people under the age of 13, so the company is now creating new ways to stop those who are underage from signing up. "We're developing AI to find and remove underaged accounts, and new solutions to verify people's ages. We're also building new experiences designed specifically for those under 13," said Pavni Diwanji, VP of Youth Products at Facebook.
Microsoft faces subpoena in Google's antitrust case in US
According to a report in The Verge on Friday, judge Amit Mehta said that "more information was required before the court could give guidance as to how much internal data Microsoft would be required to produce". The US Department of Justice (DoJ) filed an antitrust case against Google in 2020 that focused on anti-competitive behaviour in search and search advertising.
App Store now accepting UPI, Rupay cards for payments in India
The acceptance of RuPay and UPI cards means Apple users in India will be able to use the domestic payment systems as alternatives to regular credit or debit card payment methods to add funds to their Apple ID balance. They can then use their Apple ID balance to buy apps, games, music, iCloud storage and more in Apple's online store, reports MacRumors.
Apple releases watchOS 7.6.1 with security update
The watchOS 7.6.1 comes two weeks after the release of watchOS 7.6, an update that brought ECG capabilities to new regions, MacRumors reported on Thursday. The update can be downloaded for free through the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to General and then Software Update. To install the new software, the Apple Watch needs to have at least 50 per cent battery, it needs to be placed on a charger, and it needs to be in range of the iPhone.

Twitter Spaces update makes it easier to share, discover live audio
Now, users will be able to compose a new tweet directly from the Space, which will link to the audio chat and any accompanying hashtags, reports Engadget. While it was previously possible to compose new tweets while listening to a Space, having the composer directly in the Space will allow participants to more easily tweet about the conversation as it's happening.

Apple in November last year introduced three new Mac devices -- MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac Mini -- powered by the Apple M1 system on a chip (SoC). "The M1 can meet most of the general demands. However, it is not only a replacement for the Intel CPU but also allows Apple to develop new apps and create fully controlled ecosystems," said Brady Wang, Associate Director, Counterpoint Research.
