Soon transfer chat history from iOS to Android on WhatsApp: Report

According to 9To5Google, Google's 'Data Transfer Tool', the standard tool for copying files from one Android to another or from iOS to Android, is preparing to offer a way to copy your WhatsApp chats from your iPhone. The report said that one of the bigger shortcomings of WhatsApp is that users can only access their messages on one smartphone at a time.
Apple sees blockbuster sales in Q2 as chip shortage hits vendors

Apple said during its earnings call on Tuesday that the iPhone revenue set a June quarter record of $39.6 billion. "The big difference here is the mix of iPhones selling. Apple launched the low-cost iPhone SE in April 2020, which accounted for 28 per cent of its mix at that time. This year, with no new iPhone SE, its average selling price increased drastically," said Le Xuan Chiew, Canalys Research Analyst.

Twitter shuts US offices, tech giants in huddle after new CDC rules

Samsung sells 60 million phones in Q2, eyes growth via foldables

The South Korean giant said it sold 60 million units of handsets in the second quarter, down from 81 million units in the previous quarter, with the portion of smartphones reaching the mid-90 percent range. Its tablet sales reached 8 million units, same as the first quarter. Overall, Samsung's IT and Mobile Communications (IM) division had a relatively tepid performance due to the resurgence of Covid-19 in major markets.
Facebook expects significant growth slowdown for rest of 2021

The social network, which reported $29.08 billion in revenue for the second quarter with daily active users (DAUs) at 1.91 billion, said that it expects slower growth in the third and fourth quarters of 2021. "We expect year-over-year total revenue growth rates to decelerate significantly on a sequential basis as we lap periods of increasingly strong growth," the company said in a statement late on Wednesday.
