Concerns over digital payments fraud grows in India: Survey

Around 71 per cent consumers said they are more concerned about scams and fraud because of Covid-19, compared to 47 per cent consumers last year at the onset of the pandemic, said a statement by ACI Worldwide. The survey showed that net banking is perceived to be the most secure method of payment and, UPI and eWallet transactions scored higher than card payments, for both for online and offline usage.
Microsoft, 5 other firms fined for personal data leaks

The Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) said that the six entities were ordered to pay 84.4 million won (US$75,700) in penalties -- penalty surcharges of 53.4 million won and administrative fines of 31 million won -- over leaks of their clients' personal information. The imposition of financial penalties came after the PIPC had received reports of personal information being leaked from the six entities due to hacking or employee mistakes.
India ranks 67th globally in data skills: Report

Coursera's latest Global Skills report reveals that, overall, India ranks 67th globally, with 38 per cent proficiency, with mid-rankings in each domain, 55th in business and 66th in both technology and data science. In Asia, India ranks low, placed at 16th, ahead of countries such as the Philippines and Thailand, but below others like Singapore and Japan.
