Russian cruiser Moskva sinks following serious damage

Due to the damage to the hull caused by explosions of ammunition on board, Moskva lost stability, the Russian Defence Ministry said on Thursday, adding that its crew members had been evacuated to other ships, Xinhua news agency reported. Moskva was "seriously damaged" by the detonation of ammunition on board as a result of a fire, but it remained afloat after there were no open flames, the Ministry said earlier on Thursday.
US FDA authorises 1st Covid-19 diagnostic test using breath samples

The test can be performed in environments where the patient specimen is both collected and analysed, such as doctor's offices, hospitals and mobile testing sites, using an instrument about the size of a piece of carry-on luggage, according to the FDA on Thursday. The results of the test will show in less than three minutes, Xinhua news agency reported.
New York Police arrest two in alleged attacks on Sikhs

A 19-year-old man, Vernon Douglas was arrested on Thursday for allegedly attacking a 70-year-old man "wearing traditional Sikh articles of faith" on April 3, the police department said. The 'Sikh Coalition' identified the victim as Nirmal Singh, a visitor from India. The attack was investigated by the Hate Crimes Task Force of New York Police and Douglas was charged with allegedly committing hate crimes.
Israel successfully tests new laser-based air defence system

In the first-phase tests, the system was able, for the first time, to intercept drones, mortars, rockets, and anti-tank missiles, the Defence Ministry added on Thursday in a statement. "The program aims to develop a high-power ground and aerial laser system equipped to deal with long-range, high-intensity threats," it said.
