Mahindra Thar Prices Hiked Again, Now Costlier by Up to Rs 37,000

The hike is part of a broader price revision announced by Mahindra across several models in its portfolio.

Mahindra has increased prices across the entire Thar lineup by up to Rs 37,000, with the revised rates coming into effect from July 10. The latest revision marks the SUV's third price hike in 2026, following earlier increases in January and April, taking the Thar's ex-showroom price range to between Rs 10.32 lakh and Rs 17.99 lakh.

Unlike selective revisions, the latest increase applies to every Thar variant. According to the company, the price adjustment has been driven by rising commodity costs, with the extent of the increase varying depending on the engine, transmission and drivetrain configuration.

The steepest revision has been applied to the range-topping LXT 4WD 2.2 diesel automatic, whose price has gone up by Rs 37,000. The LXT 4WD petrol automatic follows closely with an increase of Rs 36,000, while the LXT 4WD 2.2 diesel manual is now costlier by Rs 34,000.

Among other variants, the LXT 4WD petrol manual has received a price hike of Rs 33,000. The entry-level AXT 2WD 1.5 diesel manual is now priced Rs 32,500 higher than before. Meanwhile, the LXT 2WD diesel manual and the LXT 2WD petrol automatic have become more expensive by Rs 29,500 and Rs 27,000, respectively.

This is the third upward revision for the Thar this year. Mahindra first increased prices by up to Rs 20,000 in January, followed by another hike of up to Rs 43,000 in April. With the latest revision, the SUV has undergone three price increases within seven months.
