The electric GLC is based on the new 800V-compatible MB.EA-M platform and is offered in two forms: the rear-wheel-drive GLC 300+ and the all-wheel-drive GLC 400 4Matic. The RWD GLC 300+ has a single motor with 374 hp, while the AWD GLC 400 has a dual-motor configuration with 489 hp. Both have a 94 kWh battery pack and charge using DC fast charging at up to 330 kW.

The platform supports both 800V and 400V charging units, supporting the battery from 10 percent up to 80 percent in 24 minutes. Remarkably, a charge of 10 minutes gives an estimated range of 303 km. The AWD GLC 400 has a WLTP-certified range of 713 km on a full charge.

In terms of design, the electric GLC is different from its conventional counterpart. It has an especially bold lighted grille with 942 backlit dots and the signature three-pointed star in the middle. The front DRLs take a star-like pattern, mirrored in a smaller light bar. In the back, there's a discreet roof spoiler enhancing aerodynamics for a drag coefficient of 0.26. The rear lights also carry the three-pointed star pattern, similar to the electric CLA.

Within, the SUV features the gargantuan 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen—the biggest screen Mercedes has ever put in. Spanning the dashboard, it combines the driver's display, central touchscreen, and passenger screen into one cohesive unit.

The new MBUX system features easier-to-use menus and an integrated AI assistant. Mercedes has also added physical buttons and knobs back to the steering wheel and center console, departing from the all-touch controls commonly found in EVs.
