Reliance Industries announced the opening of the largest convention centre in India at the Jio World Centre in Bandra, Mumbai. The convention centre will be having three exhibition halls in it, The largest of the three will be covered in the area of 1.61 lakh square feet and the other two will be of the same measure 1.07 lakh square feet.
The aim of the company behind building up this world-class centre is to celebrate the vibrant culture of India, share business ideas and celebrate the rich heritage of our country.
The Jio World Centre will include a cultural experience, retail, entertainment and dining facilities in Bandra Kurla Complex. Envisioned by Nita Ambani, It will be a place where people will come together to script the next chapter of India's growth story. The centre will be first in digital innovation as it will enable 5G digital services like uninterrupted data, hybrid and virtual events and online culture experiences.
The Jio centre will include Jio World Offices, Bay Club, The Clubhouse, Dhirubhai Ambani Time Square, Jio World Garden, Jio World Plaza, Jio World Residences, the cultural centre, Jio World drive and Jio World convention centre.

The centre will be opened in a phase-wise manner over the current and the next year. The overall area covered by the centre is 18.5 acres.
"Envisioned by Nita Ambani, Director Reliance Industries and Founder-Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, the centre covers an expanse of 18.5 acres in BKC, and is set to become an iconic business, commerce and culture destination, giving India and its citizens a world-class landmark," RIL said
On Wednesday Nita Ambani inaugurated 'Dhirubhai Ambani Square', which will be a part of the Jio World centre and will have a series of fountain shows, lights shows as well as music for the people of Mumbai. It will be a new landmark for Mumbai city. The square will give free entry to the people and will have open public spaces.
“We dedicate the Dhirubhai Ambani Square and the world-class Fountain of Joy to the people and city of Mumbai. A celebration of the spirit of the city, it will be an iconic new public space where people share joys and soak in the colours and sounds of Aamchi Mumbai!" said Nita Ambani.

Around 2000 children from NGOs were invited to attend the event and to experience the fountain and music shows presented. Along with children around 250 teachers from BMC schools were also invited to attend the event.
