Karnataka CET-2021 exam results to be announced by Sep 20
Speaking to the media after visiting Sheshadripuram college CET centre to examine the arrangements made, he said, the examination is being held smoothly at all the 530 locations across the state. Of the 12 students who had been informed that they are Covid-19 positive, 4 students have been tested negative.
Mysuru University 'bans' movement of girl students after 6.30 p.m.
As the order issued by the Registrar, coming against the backdrop of gang rape incident in the city, evoked outrage, Vice Chancellor, Prof G. Hemantha Kumar, assured to rectify the order by Saturday. The order said that the movement of girl students on the campus has been banned after 6.30 pm. They are also banned from sitting anywhere in the campus after the stipulated time.

Schools to partially resume in Delhi from September 1
An expert committee established by the DDMA has recommended opening schools in a phased manner in Delhi. The committee has suggested that parents should have an option of sending their children to school while others can opt for online classes. Most schools across the country have remained closed for 15 months since March 2020 which has affected more than 247 million children.
Haryana to open schools for Class 4, 5 from Sep 1
Education Minister Kanwar Pal said that the classes would be held by strictly following the standard operating procedures. He said that the students of these classes would be allowed to come to the school with the permission of their parents as per the letter issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

DU council meet on Tuesday to propose opening of 2 new colleges
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supported academic council members -- Asha Rani and Sunil Kumar will raise the demand for opening of colleges in the name of Mata Savitribai Phule and Jannayak Chaudhary Brahm Prakash Yadav during the Zero Hour. Both these members of the DU academic council will also raise questions as to why the new education policy is being implemented without discussing it with teachers.
Students throng high schools, pre-university colleges in K'taka
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Primary and Secondary Education Minister B.C. Nagesh had urged the parents to send their children to schools without fear. The principals and teachers stood at the entrance to welcome students with roses. Some schools extended welcome to their students by beating drums and blowing bugles. Some welcomed students by distributing masks and doing 'aarti' (Hindu tradition of waving of lamps to ward off evil spirits).
1.8 lakh students apply for 20,000 PG seats in DU
The registration process for PG admissions in the varsity has been completed. On an average, nine students have applied in the varsity for each seat offering PG courses this year. Till Saturday evening, 3,58,876 students have registered themselves for the undergraduate (UG) courses. The registration for PG, M.Phil and Ph.D admissions in the varsity had started on July 26.
UGC allows varsities to teach online, distance learning post Covid
The UGC has decided to start 123 different online courses. Out of this, 40 programmes for postgraduate (PG) students and 83 for undergraduate (UG) students have been decided. Students from across the country can go for these courses. They will have to apply through the online course platform 'Swayam' or "Study Webs of Active-Learning for Young Aspiring Minds".
