New initiative by Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia to help students
Indian students, parents, academicians and educationists will work under the embassy's supervision. India's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ausaf Sayeed, said the education forum is one of the initiatives to be launched to mark India's 75th Independence Day. This August 15 also marks the 75th anniversary of bilateral relations between India and Saudi Arabia.
NEET-MDS counselling to be held from Aug 20 to Oct 10, SC told
Senior advocate Vikas Singh, representing the petitioners, submitted before the top court that that Centre, in its affidavit, said that they will conduct the counselling for the NEET-MDS admissions, for which exams were held last year on December 16, from August 20 to October 10, 2021. The results were declared on December 31, 2020.
Last chance for students to register for JEE Mains on Wednesday
Lakhs of students across the country have already registered themselves for the fourth and the final stage of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main for seeking admissions to top IITs. The National Testing Agency (NTA) said such students who were unable to register themselves for the JEE Main can still apply for registration till Wednesday after which no student will be allowed to appear in the exam.
Only one out of 8.71 lakh students failed in SSLC exams in Karnataka
Minister Nagesh said, one girl student who was absent for the examination has failed. As many as 6 per cent students who secured 'C' grade in SSLC exams have been granted grace marks and promoted, he added. The examinations were conducted through Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB). For those who did not attend exams, KSEEB is giving them another opportunity to write exams.
Lucknow University receives record number of applications for UG admissions
According to the admission data, the university has received 48,022 applications for UG courses, which is about 8.5 per cent more than last year and about 30-40 per cent more than 2019 and 2018. Teachers attribute the spike in admission applications to the reluctance of parents to send their children to institutions outside the state in the prevailing pandemic conditions.
UK universities to continue online lessons during autumn term
According to The Sunday Times report, 20 of the leading 24 Russell Group universities said a proportion of undergraduate teaching will continue to be held online, which means they will offer blended learning to mix the online and face-to-face teaching for classes, seminars and lectures, reports Xinhua news agency.
Delhi Schools to reopen from today for admission related work, classes yet to begin
The teaching process is not to be started yet at schools, coaching institutes and Universities until further notice.The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) agreed last Friday to form a committee comprised of officials from the education and health ministries to devise a strategy for reopening educational institutions in the Capital. Schools and universities in the national capital have been suspended since March last year.
Karnataka to announce class 10 results on Monday
The results will be released online on state's official websites - kseeb.kar.nic.in and karresults.nic.in. - by newly sworn in Education Minister B.C. Nagesh at the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) headquarters at Malleshwaram in the city. The results will also be sent to individual students through SMS.
'Very sick kids': Delta threat looms over US school reopenings
Doctors are raising the alarm. "I will say what I'm hearing from my pediatrician colleagues and particularly in areas where infection rates are high is that they are seeing very sick kids," Lee Savio Beers, President of the American Academy of Pediatrics, said in public comments Friday. The new infections among children were recorded in seven days leading up to July 29, up from 39,000 the week prior.
