Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has cleared that he does not claim credit for making anyone's career, stating that he is blamed instead of ruining others' careers.

The time came during the recent Weekend Ka Vaar session of Bigg Boss 19, when Shehnaaz Gill came on stage to present her brother, Shehbaz Badesha, as a wild card entry.

In her conversation with Salman, Shehnaaz remarked, “I came with a request… you’ve helped build so many people’s careers.”

Talking back to her, Salman right away said: "Mainai kahan banaye hai kisi ke. Career banane wala uparwala hai main thodi hun. Laachan bhi daala hai ki kitno ke dubaaye hai. I have not built anybody's career. It's the Almighty who creates careers, not me. Actually, people even blame me for having destroyed many."

He went on to clarify: "Specially dubaane waale toh mere haath mein hai hi nahi.". Lekin aaj kal yeh sab chalta hai na ki career khaa jaayega. Kaunsa career khaaya maine? Par agar khao na toh main apna khud ka career khaa jaunga. (Especially the ones who say I've ruined them on purpose—that's not even in my control. But nowadays, that's the way it is, right? Everyone says, 'He'll devour your career.' Which career have I ever devoured? And if I ever do, it'll be only my own.)

Shehnaaz, who gained popularity with her Bigg Boss 13 stint, entered Bollywood opposite Salman in the 2023 release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, a remake of the Tamil blockbuster Veeram. The film also included an ensemble cast of Pooja Hegde and Venkatesh opposite Salman.
