Bollywood megastar Salman Khan, who is returning as the host of the reality show Bigg Boss for the 19th season, will be seen reprimanding contestant and music composer Amaal Mallik in the next "Weekend Ka Vaar" episode.
In a newly dropped promo on Instagram, Salman is seen reprimanding Amaal and asking him: "What are you doing here? Are you here to sleep?" To which Amaal replies: "No, bhai."
The superstar then reminds the contestant — who is also the brother of singer Armaan Malik — that his reputation outside the house is taking a hit because of his passive approach.
"You are here to inform us who the actual Amaal Malik is. Did you inform us? Why are you waiting? The picture that you have outside is worsening. Expectations were high. Amaal will make a storm in this house," Salman claims in the video.
Terming the occurrence as "shocking", he goes on to say: "Basically, a front foot man has turned a background artist. It's shocking."
This season's cast features Gaurav Khanna, Awez Darbar, Ashnoor Kaur, Mridul Tiwari, Nagma Mirajkar, Kunickaa Sadanand, Baseer Ali, Abhishek Bajaj, Tanya Mittal, Zeishan Quadri, Nehal Chudasama, Natalia Janoszek, Pranit More, Farhana Bhatt, and Neelam Giri, and Amaal Mallik too. Bigg Boss 19 can be streamed on JioHotstar and is broadcast on Colors.
Earlier this week, Amaal grabbed headlines when he open-heartedly expressed his family's strained relationships with music director Anu Malik. While chatting with fellow contestants Zeishan Quadri and Baseer Ali, Amaal shared how the success of Anu Malik created cracks that emotionally affected his dad Daboo Malik's family. Both families would even shun each other at social events, he said.
Terming Anu Malik a "hungry lion", Amaal explained that although there has been a rapprochement among the older generation since then, the younger generation is yet to mend ties. He conceded that Anu Malik's children remain estranged from him and his family until this day.
