Bollywood actor Govinda's manager has shot down recent reports of the actor's split from wife Sunita. In a conversation with IANS on Saturday, actor manager Shashi Sinha made it clear that rumors surrounding Sunita seeking a divorce from the actor are unfounded.
Sinha did admit that Sunita had indeed filed papers in court previously, but the matter was resolved in its initial stages and that the couple has moved on.
He informed IANS, "No, someone has played this trick. This is a very old thing. Nothing new. Nothing like the divorce is going to happen. Everything is getting better. Everything is fine. Very soon, everyone will get good news."
When enquired if the issue had anything to do with the 2024 case filed at the Bandra Family Court, the manager assured that it was the same.
"It is the same situation but it has been resolved, people do find ways to refurbish news from old incidents. There is no new development which has occurred, I have been receiving so many calls but everything is okay, near about everything is settled between the couple. There's nothing to be worried about. We will officially confirm this through a wider media document circulation (sic)," Sinha explained.
He added further, "Did you see Govinda speaking on the topic? In the industry and media, individuals exploit hazy situation and false information. There is some ill will or a moron, attempting to capitalize on controversy."
Rumors of Sunita requesting a separation had surfaced earlier in February, when it was reported that she had lodged legal documents in relation to the situation.
At the same time, Govinda has had a tough few months personally, including last October's incident where he received a bullet wound on his foot from when he handled his gun at home in the early morning hours.
