Actress Kaley Cuoco opened up about facing mom-shaming during a recent trip with her partner Tom Pelphrey and their 9-month-old daughter Matilda. The couple brought Matilda on her first flight, causing some unexpected challenges.
Cuoco shared the experience on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', explaining how they were apprehensive about the journey and even brought Matilda's sound machine to help her sleep. Despite their efforts, Matilda cried on the plane, prompting a request from a fellow passenger to turn off the sound machine.
"The steward comes over," Cuoco recounted, "and he was like, 'Hey, one of the passengers would love if you would turn the sound machine off.' I couldn't believe, by the way, she asked us to turn it off. We were so angry."
To their surprise, the passenger making the request was the woman seated in front of them. Cuoco humorously described the awkwardness of the situation, and after the plane landed, the lady commented on Matilda's smile.
Reflecting on the encounter, Cuoco jokingly said, "It was in that moment where I understood why women end up on 'Dateline'. I could have strangled her. I could have thrown that woman off the plane."
Cuoco and Tom Pelphrey announced their pregnancy in 2022 and welcomed Matilda Carmine Richie Pelphrey in March 2023. Before her relationship with Tom, Cuoco was married to Karl Cook, and their divorce was finalized in June 2022 after three years of marriage.
