Actor and model Rohman Shawl has opened up about his preference for diamonds and why he hasn't been able to give one to his ex-girlfriend, actress Sushmita Sen.
While chatting with Instant Bollywood, Rohman was questioned if he or Sushmita had ever given diamond gifts to each other when the two were in a relationship.
In turn, Rohman modestly conceded that he is not in a position to afford the type of diamond Sushmita likes right now.
"Jis hisab ke unko diamond pasand hai, abhi meri aukaat nahi itna bada kharidne ki. Toh jis din uss layak banunga, inshallah zaroor," he offered, making it clear that he is not yet in a position to pay for the lavish jewel she likes, but hopes to be able to do so someday.
On being asked further about her likes, Rohman disclosed, "Unka ek pasandita diamond hai, woh 22 carats ka hai. Toh woh kamane ke liye bahot waqt hai, but inshallah jaldi." Her favorite diamond is a 22-carat one, according to him, and it's a long way off to buy something that big, but he hopes.
Even after breaking up in December 2021—an update Sushmita shared on Instagram—the couple has still been on good terms. They are still seen attending different events and gatherings together, with the latest one being a soiree at Sushmita's Mumbai home. In her emotional social media post at the time of their separation, she had posted a photo of them and stated, "We started as friends, we are still friends!!! The relationship was long gone… the love still stays!!! #nomorespeculations #liveandletlive #cherishedmemories #gratitude #love #friendship I love you guys!!! #duggadugga."
On the work front, Sushmita Sen was recently seen in the 2023 biographical drama series Taali: Bajaungi Nahi, Bajwaungi, directed by Ravi Jadhav. She played the role of famous transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant in the hit show.
