Police complaint filed against Kareena Kapoor Khan for hurting religious sentiments

According to media reports, a Christian group - Alpha Omega Christian Mahasangh has taken objection to the title of Kareena’s book and has filed a complaint against the actress and two others for hurting the religious sentiments. The complaint was filed by the President of the Group Ashish Shinde at the Shivaji Nagar Police Station in Beed city of Maharashtra.

The Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor khan recently introduced us to her third child. After welcoming two baby boys, Taimur and Jeh the actress decided to pen down her thoughts, her experience, and advice about embracing motherhood and named it ‘Pregnancy Bible’. While the book has garnered some good reviews and is doing well at the stores, the name of Kareena’s book has landed her in some trouble.

In the complaint, Ashish has mentioned that the word Bible used in the title of the book authored by Kareena Kapoor and Aditi Shah Bhimjani, and published by Juggernaut Books has hurt the sentiments of Christians. Shinde has sought registration of a case under IPC section 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or reli­gious beliefs) against the actress and the two others.

According to the PTI, A higher official at the Shivaji Police Station has confirmed receiving a complaint. but said no FIR has been filed. “We have received the complaint but no case can be registered here as the incident has not happened here (in Beed). I have advised him to file a complaint in Mumbai.” PTI quoted Shivaji Nagar Police Station in-charge Inspector Sainath Thombre.

Kareena launched her book on July 9. Calling it her third child, the 40-year-old actress, who gave birth to her second child, a boy, in February this year, shared a series of posts to promote the book on social media.
