Rajinikanth's 'Coolie' Rakes in ₹504 Crore at the Box Office

The film, which hit theaters on August 14, is helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the director behind hits like Karthi’s “Kaithi”, Vijay’s “Master” and “Leo”, as well as Kamal Haasan’s “Vikram”.

“Coolie”, starring the legendary Rajinikanth, has now surpassed the Rs 500 crore milestone at the global box office.

Trade monitor website Sacnilk says that "Coolie", which started with Rs 151 crore, has collected a total of Rs 504 crore globally. Of this amount, Rs 327 crore is from the domestic market. The film features Rajinikanth as the top character of a coolie who takes on a corrupt syndicate that is exploiting his former mates in a port town.

The ensemble cast also features Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, with Nagarjuna portraying the antagonist, and Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan making a special appearance.

“Coolie” marks Rajinikanth’s 171st film as a leading actor and his first collaboration with Kanagaraj.

Produced by Sun Pictures and distributed by Pen Studios, the film released alongside Ayan Mukerji’s “War 2”, which stars Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR in pivotal roles.
