Actor Ram Kapoor offered a candid glimpse into his life before marriage during a recent episode of Lock Upp 2, admitting that he had been in numerous relationships before tying the knot with Gautami Kapoor. Reflecting on that phase of his life, the actor described himself as a "playboy".
During the show, contestant Shreya Kalra asked Ram Kapoor about the number of affairs he had been involved in. Beginning with his life after marriage, the actor responded, "After marriage, not a single one."
When the conversation turned to his relationships before marriage, Ram acknowledged that he could no longer keep track of them. "Before? I was a playboy," he said. As Shreya continued to ask for a specific number, he replied, "Can't count."
The actor also recounted a conversation that took place when he and Gautami decided to marry, revealing that his longtime friend Ekta Kapoor had expressed concern over his reputation for dating.
Sharing the anecdote, Ram said, "Okay I'll tell you honestly. When everyone came to know that Gautami and Ram are getting married, Ekta, who is my friend, she called Gautami Kapoor and told her, 'What are you doing? He's had so many affairs. What are you doing?' Ekta was worried for her. And I acknowledge that what Ekta did was right because I was that man."
Ram Kapoor and Gautami Kapoor first crossed paths while working on the television serial Ghar Ek Mandir in 2000. Their professional association soon turned into a relationship, and after dating for several years, they married on February 14, 2003. More than two decades later, the couple are parents to two children, daughter Sia and son Aks.
