Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who is preparing for his upcoming release Galwan, has arrived in Mumbai with a completely new look. On Thursday, the actor was seen leaving Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, grabbing attention with his new look.
This time, Salman has shunned the moustache he is carrying for his next film in favor of a clean shave. He wore his airport look relaxed but crisp, combining faded blue denims with a black t-shirt, layering it over a black jacket and completing the look with a matching cap.
In Galwan, Salman was previously spotted sporting a moustache, a look that reminded everyone of his iconic role of Inspector Chulbul Pandey of the Dabangg franchise. While the moustache has been a hallmark of his on-screen image so far, his newest off-screen look indicates a departure from that tough look.
Currently, the actor is juggling between the shoot of Bigg Boss 19 and Galwan. Salman recently gave a sneak peek from the sets of the movie through Instagram. Posting a behind-the-scenes image, he could be seen looking through a clapperboard with the words "Scene 86, Shot 1," as he recorded his first take.
In the still, the star is clad in battle dress, including a jacket with badges and layers of the old Personal Camouflage Disruptive Pattern Material (PC DPM). As Galwan recounts the 2020-21 stand-off, his clothing has been done up accordingly. Significantly, the PC DPM uniform was officially retired and replaced by the INCAM's New Battle Dress Uniform (NBDU), which was first revealed in the 74th Army Day Parade in January 2022. Created in partnership with NIFT, the new pattern became the norm for Indian Army soldiers.
The BTS also showed a severe scar on Salman's face running down its side, suggesting the intensity of the role. It was captioned simply: "#BattleOfGalwan."
Made against the backdrop of India-China Galwan Valley clash on June 15, 2020, amid the initial wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, the movie promises to show one of the most important and fought battles in recent history.
