The mail from Rohit Gupta, Senior Casting Coordinator of 'Bigg Boss' season 19, asked Ashneer to come on the show as a wildcard participant. It read, "We are pleased to reach out to you for an exclusive chance to be a part of the show as a wildcard contestant. Your energetic personality, active social media presence, and individual charm have impressed our casting team, and thus, you are an ideal fit for this role.". 'Bigg Boss' season 19 keeps viewers hooked with its interesting combination of drama, entertainment, and human bonding. As a wildcard entry, you will have the opportunity to join the Bigg Boss house at mid-season, infusing new energy and point of view in the show."

Whether Ashneer has responded to the invitation or not is not clear, but he posted the email on social media with the following caption: "Haha! Salman bhai se pooch le !! Mai to free ho jaaunga tab tak. Ye 'mail merge' kisi ki to naukri khayega (Haha! Ask Salman bhai! I'll be free by then. This 'mail merge' is going to take someone's job).

Ashneer suggested that he would be free once he finished hosting for 'Rise & Fall.'

Ashneer and Salman have a past, as Ashneer had made a guest appearance on a 'Weekend Ka Vaar' of 'Bigg Boss 18.' Salman had confronted him during his visit over something Ashneer had said in the past.

Ashneer had made an allegation on a podcast that he was not granted a picture with Salman and accused him of having negotiated Salman's remuneration for a brand ambassador role with his firm, BharatPe, bringing it down from INR 7.5 crore to INR 4.5 crore. Salman refuted certain of these allegations, stating that he did not even recollect having met Ashneer. Ashneer, on the other hand, faulted Salman for causing "unnecessary drama," claiming he had gone to the episode in peace and his public statements were overexaggerated rather than degrading.
