Predictable with her strategic maneuvers, Swift's fans were quick to suspect that something would be released at 12:12 a.m. EST on the 12th day of the month when the countdown finished. As expected, she broke the news about the album title while on Travis Kelce's podcast, New Heights Show.

Variety indicates that the announcement was made soon after Kelce posted on Instagram that Swift would be appearing as a guest on this Wednesday's episode of New Heights, which is hosted by Kelce and his brother Jason. The podcast had teased an "extra special guest" earlier in the day on Monday, and fans had speculated based on a photo with Swift's silhouette that Swift would make an appearance.

After the announcement, Spotify billboards went up in New York City and Nashville, showing a code that took fans to a playlist titled "And, baby, that's show business for you." The playlist, with some of Swift's songs included, has Swifties salivating to search for secret hints in the tracklist, comparisons drawn to her earlier albums. Interestingly, all of the tracks in this playlist were produced by Max Martin and Shellback, suggesting that they could play a major part in the new album.

Taylor Swift's latest studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, was released in April 2024. Two hours later, she added to it and turned it into a double album called The Anthology, which turned out to be the year's best-seller.
