The legendary actress TV drama Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, which was led by TV-turned-politician Smriti Irani, is set to make a comeback in a big way.

On the day that audiences got to see Smriti Irani for the first time as Tulsi Virani in the new series, the makers dropped the date of the premiere.
 

The long-awaited return of the popular show was announced through Star Plus's official Instagram account, creating a wave of nostalgia.

The channel also put out a new promo with Smriti Irani playing Tulsi, watering a holy Tulsi plant in a moment of devotion. In a love letter to the fans, she assures them of her comeback despite her political engagements at the moment.

"Zaroor aaoongi. Kyunki itne saalon ka rishtha jo hai. Waqt aa gaya hai aapse phir milne ka," she declares in the promo, reiterating the affinities that the character established over the years.

Initially produced by Ekta Kapoor, the iconic soap is coming back to its original 10:30 pm timeslot on Star Plus—a move that brings back memories, recalling the times when it dominated Indian television.

The show celebrated its 25th anniversary on July 3, 2025, reflecting on a history that started in 2000 and went on until 2008. At its initial run, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was number one in Indian TV ratings for a record seven years in a row.
