Bihar police have raised a high alert after receiving intelligence that three terrorists from Pakistan have entered Bihar through Nepal. The police have also issued sketches of the trio, who belong to the banned terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed.
The three men are Hasnain Ali from Rawalpindi, Adil Hussain from Umarkot, and Mohammad Usman from Bahawalpur.
The terrorists, they said, arrived in Kathmandu, Nepal's capital, during the second week of last month and then crossed into poll-bound Bihar in the previous week. Officials have provided officials in border districts with their passport details.
Security in Bihar has been strengthened in the wake of the upcoming assembly elections. In the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised in Bihar that the terrorists involved in the April 22 tragedy would be brought to justice.
Following revelation of cross-border connections to the attack, the Indian military conducted Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting several terror camps belonging to outfits like Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). More than 100 terrorists were killed in the strikes according to reports.
Addressing a rally in Bihar last week, PM Modi declared Operation Sindoor as "a vow I made on the soil of Bihar." He further stated, "Now, the message is clear as day that no terrorist can escape after attacking anywhere on Indian soil. Our missiles will track them down to the deepest parts of the earth (patal lok)."
