Covid-19 India Update: 8,306 new cases, 211 deaths

India has registered  8,306 new Covid-19 cases and 211 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the latest update released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday. With the recovery of 8,834 patients in the last 24 hours the total recovered patients tally and increased to 3,40,69,608, keeping the recovery rate at 98.35 per cent, the highest since March 2020.

India has registered  8,306 new Covid-19 cases and 211 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the latest update released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday. In addition to this, the total number of Omicron Covid Varient cases in the country rose to 21 on Sunday. The new variant cases have been detected in four states till now including Karnataka, Gujarat, Delhi, and Rajasthan.

1. With the recovery of 8,834 patients in the last 24 hours the total recovered patients tally and increased to 3,40,69,608, keeping the recovery rate at 98.35 per cent, the highest since March 2020.

2. With the new 211 fatalities the nationwide death toll has reached to 4,73,537.

3. With 98,416 active cases, the current active cases tally accounts for only 0.28 per cent of the total covid-19 cases recorded in the country, which is also the lowest since March 2020.

4. For 22 consecutive days the weekly positivity rate remained less than 1 per cent at 0.78 per cent.  In addition to this, the daily positivity rate stood at 0.94 per cent, which remained below 2 per cent for 63 days straight and less than 3 per cent for 98 days straight.

5. 24,55,911 covid vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours and the total number of vaccinated in the country has reached 127.93 crores as of Monday morning.
