While the authorities are already cracking down on funding of Jihadi entities and Khalistan groups, a greater concern has arisen: intelligence reports suggest there is a coordinated push to destabilize the nation.

Money is allegedly being routed to some groups to create unrest, with the objective of weakening national stability and disrupting social peace. The funds are reportedly being utilized to encourage people to protest government decisions or sabotage developmental schemes, intelligence sources have claimed. Moreover, money is reportedly being used to mobilize masses across the country against moves to target Maoist elements. Some groups, realizing that security agencies are well on their way to eradicating the Maoist menace by 2026, are reportedly organizing violent agitations to fabricate false narratives.

Against the backdrop of deteriorating crisis in Bangladesh, security agencies also raised alarms over massive illegal migration. Indian troops have been stopping large numbers of people trying to cross into the country illegally. Intelligence reports that this is not an impromptu humanitarian crisis but a strategic attempt by the likes of the ISI and DGFI to infiltrate villages in India, which may change demographics to fuel communal tensions.

With elections in Bihar looming, illegal immigration from Bangladesh is likely to become an issue of focus. Officials are likely to expect attempts at sabotaging the elections process as well as stepped-up arrivals of migrants into the state.

The government has asked security personnel to be on high alert with little leeway, and it seems some foreign-funded pseudomonastic human rights groups are using the opportunity to create a false scenario, depicting the situation as a humanitarian crisis created by the Indian government. A substantial amount of money seems to be backing such activities, which are aimed at sabotaging peace and national integration.

The NIA's stepped-up crackdown on terror financing is also tied to Pakistan's recent activities. Pakistan is said to be spending on propagating false propaganda following the setbacks in Operation Sindoor, and thus NIA's continuing investigations are of prime importance.

On Sunday, the NIA conducted raids in 22 places in five states and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in a terror conspiracy case. The raids covered eight places in Bihar, one each in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, two in Uttar Pradesh, and nine in Jammu and Kashmir. Officials believe that the network being probed is trying to incite trouble and cause law and order problems as part of a larger effort to destabilize the nation. Such operations are all part of the larger mandate of the NIA to disrupt terror networks and sever their sources of funds.

Besides that, the NIA is investigating several cases related to radicalization, recruitment for terrorism, and the detection of sleeper cells. Recent efforts have led to numerous arrests, and the agency is also keeping a close watch on online media platforms upon which recruiters and radicalizers act. The measures are in line with the Indian government's resolve for a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism.
